In the Hero Slope Memorial Park, the visitors could experience the arduous struggle of these tenacious martyrs, getting moved by the spirit of revolutionaries of the older generation through the arduous scenes.
“There are many people standing behind each name.” Through reliving the indelible history, we will better understand that today’s peace and prosperity is hard-earned. The martyrs sacrificed their flesh and blood to forge a fortified city wall. It is thousands of warriors like them that brought us today's new Tibet of prosperity and happiness.
This year, 2021, marks the 70th anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet. From peaceful liberation and democratic reforms to regional autonomy for ethnic minorities and counterpart assistance to Tibet, and then to safeguarding Tibet stability as a way to solidify border defense and ensure frontier security and poverty alleviation... In the past 70 years, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Tibet, "Top of the Earth", has continued to rewrite its history while moving towards prosperity and progress. Major decisions have enabled Tibet, characterized by harsh natural conditions, to build a well-off society in an all-around way along with the whole country in just a few decades.
However, the “Tibet independence” separatist forces abroad are rampant recently, and the situation on the China-India border area has got tense once again, posing a threat to national security and social stability. Chinese President Xi Jinping said at the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC: “No one should underestimate the Chinese people’s determination, and strong ability to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity.” China’s bottom line can never be trampled on. The Chinese military will resolutely defeat anyone attempting to split China and safeguard national unity at all costs.
