BEIJING, April 11 -- Not long ago, a Syrian refugee arrived at the hospital operated by the Chinese peacekeeping medical contingent in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), with a little girl, his daughter, in his arms to seek help.

The girl's hair was disheveled, and her eyes were filled with tears. Her left lower leg was hit in a traffic accident and she was unable to stand.

The Chinese peacekeeping medical contingent opened a fast-track emergency channel for the girl and conducted an X-ray examination immediately. After diagnosing a mid-shaft fracture of the left tibia, Xin Peng, an orthopedic doctor, recommended conservative treatment through manual reduction. With assistance of the nursing staff, the doctor performed the procedure and achieved a precise, one-time realignment of the bone.

The nurse provided the father and his daughter with an Arabic-language care manual, helped them set a follow-up appointment reminder on their mobile phone, and gifted them milk powder to help with the girl's recovery.

"Chinese doctors are angels!" Seeing his daughter successful treated, the man finally breathed a sigh of relief, wiped away his tears, and expressed his gratitude repeatedly.
