PLA, PAP, and militias act promptly for emergency rescue in Inner Mongolia

HOHHOT, Aug. 14 -- A dike breach occurred following recent torrential rains at about 12:40 p.m. Tuesday at the left bank section of the Laoha River in Bataiyingzi village, Taipingdi Town, Songshan District, Chifeng City, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

After the emergency, over 250 soldiers from a brigade of the PLA 79th Group Army, over 290 soldiers from the Chifeng Detachment under the People's Armed Police (PAP) Inner Mongolia Corps and a detachment of the 1st Mobile Corps under the PAP Force, along with over 200 militiamen from the Songshan District People's Armed Forces Department, swiftly responded to the emergency and rushed to the front lines of the rescue and disaster relief missions.

The breach has been sealed as of 1:00 p.m. Wednesday. Currently, soldiers, militiamen, and local emergency rescue forces continued to fill sandbags at the sealed area for further consolidation.
