POINTE NOIRE, July 18 -- The medical team of the 43rd Chinese naval escort taskforce and the 29th Chinese medical team to the Republic of Congo (ROC) jointly provided a free clinic at the Hospital De Loandjili in Pointe-Noire of ROC on July 15.
The two Chinese medical teams sent a total of 17 doctors from departments of surgery, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynecology, stomatology, traditional Chinese medicine, urology, etc. They provided medical diagnosis and treatment for more than 170 military and civilian outpatients and prescribed patients medicines for common diseases. In particular, they performed surgical resection for two local patients suffering from facial tumor and huge back tumor respectively.
The Chinese teams also had in-depth exchanges with local doctors from the General Hospital of the Congolese military and the Hôpital Général de Loandjili on the prevention and treatment of common diseases, as well as the maintenance of medical equipment.
Organized by the Chinese Embassy in ROC, this joint free clinic received support from the Congolese military and the local Chinese business associations. The director of the Hôpital Général de Loandjili said at the end of the activity that the free clinic has deepened the friendship between the two countries, and they appreciated the continuous support and assistance provided by the Chinese government to the country.
