BEIJING, Mar. 11 -- The 46th Chinese naval escort taskforce recently completed the 1,632nd escort task in the Gulf of Aden and the waters off Somalia.
This was the first escort task after the taskforce set sail from Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province on February 21.
The warship Xuchang on duty kept on high alert and escorted the Chinese general cargo ship Kaituo from COSCO Shipping Development Co., Ltd. throughout the course, and successfully arrived at the designated sea area on the morning of March 9, local time.
It is learned that the 46th Chinese naval escort taskforce started to independently conduct escort mission after separating from the 45th escort taskforce on March 4, local time.
