BEIJING, Mar.7 -- The 21st Chinese Peacekeeping Multi-Role Engineering Company to United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) disposed of an explosive device found near the UN-demarcated “Blue Line” on March 3, 2023, local time.

The improvised explosive device was converted from an Israeli Type No.4A anti-personnel blast. The explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) team of the Chinese peacekeeping contingent took immediate action after receiving the UNIFIL mandate. The Chinese EOD soldiers assembled the EOD robotic manipulators and transferred the explosive device to the ground, while another EOD soldier wearing a heavy EOD suit set up the priming network at the operation point and completed the detonation work.

It’s reported that this is the first explosive device successfully disposed of by the 21st Chinese Peacekeeping Multi-Role Engineering Company during its mission period, which has been highly recognized by the UNIFIL.
