BEIJING, April 4 -- Recently, the 13th Chinese Peacekeeping Horizontal Engineering Company to the United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS), which is stationed in Wau, South Sudan, completed the construction of an important local supply route with high standards.

It is learned that this supply route is the main route connecting Warrap State and Unity State, and also the lifeline of material supply and emergency medical treatment for local people of the two states. This main route was seriously damaged due to long-term surging flood and passing vehicles.

Upon receiving task from the UNMISS, the engineering company conducted a survey and subsequently commenced reconstruction. Zhang Tao, deputy commander of the contingent, said that during the 37-day construction period, the Chinese troops overcame difficulties such as high temperature, efficiently reconstructed 16 kilometers of subgrade, and completed the task with high standards, winning widespread acclaim from UNMISS and the local people.
