GAO, Mali, April 18 -- The 10th Chinese Peacekeeping Base Defense Unit to United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) conducted a comprehensive  round-the-clock live-fire exercise at the Oasis Range in Gao  from April 10 to 11.

The exercise marked the first comprehensive exercise involving all personnel, all equipment and all elements after the deployment of the new-type mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles  to the contingent. The exercise focused on verifying the integration of personnel with various recently-deployed new-type equipment, calibrating weapons in accuracy, and adjusting equipment for communication and navigation. The exercise lasted over 25 hours, involving over 3,600 rounds of ammunition in six categories and seven types.
