BEIJING, Feb. 20 -- Recently, the 27th Chinese Peacekeeping Level-II Hospital to UN Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) visited a public school in Bukavu and celebrated the Spring Festival, or Chinese Lunar New Year, together with teachers and students there.

The peacekeepers brought school supplies, sports equipment, food and other gifts to over 10 teachers and 200 students at the school. They sang and danced together, while the local students also performed scene plays and the djembe. In addition, the peacekeepers arranged a traditional Chinese culture class, during which the students experienced Chinese Lunar New Year customs through activities such as writing Spring Festival couplets and making paper cuts.

Chief of the infrastructure and construction department of South Kivu Province attended the event. He praised the good deeds of the Chinese peacekeepers and hoped for long-lasting friendship and win-win cooperation between the two countries.
