BEIJING, Feb. 27 -- The 22nd Chinese Peacekeeping Troops to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) were invited to an exchange activity with the French battalion, which also undertakes the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, on February 26.

During the event, the engineering officer of the French battalion introduced to the Chinese contingent the composition of the French peacekeeping engineering platoon in Lebanon and its abilities to perform the tasks. After that, they introduced in detail their mine clearance and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) equipment and presented the on-site simulated mine clearance demonstration, the search operation by demining dogs, and the display of engineering and mechanical vehicles.

Plus, the two sides discussed topics such as the present severe regional security situation in the mission area, and conducted in-depth exchanges on the better completion of the tasks assigned by UNIFIL.
