BEIJING, Apr. 1 -- Recently, the 10th Chinese peacekeeping infantry battalion to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) underwent the equipment inspection organized by the UNMISS for the first quarter of 2024. This was also the first equipment inspection since their deployment to the mission area. The 10th Chinese peacekeeping infantry battalion to UNMISS passed the equipment inspection successfully with all the items meeting the inspection requirements.

The equipment inspection team consisted of 17 personnel from different UNMISS departments such as transportation, communications, and ammunition. After hearing a report on the equipment status of the Chinese peacekeeping infantry battalion, the team conducted detailed inspection and evaluation of the equipment and materiel.

During the inspection, the inspectors checked the warehouse, the barracks, vehicles, and weapons. They inspected and inquired about the performance of the equipment one by one. They also required operators to conduct on-site demonstrations to ensure that each piece of equipment performs well.

The Chinese peacekeepers introduced the quantity and quality of supplies and materials as well as the technical and tactical performance of weapons and equipment and operated various types of equipment with superb skills.

After more than five hours of evaluation and analysis, the inspection team unanimously concluded that the equipment of the Chinese peacekeeping infantry battalion to UNMISS is in good condition, and the Chinese peacekeepers possess excellent professional competence and proficient operational skills. All items of the Chinese peacekeeping force have reached the standards set by the UN and can meet the needs of mission execution and self-sustainment.
