BEIRUT, May 8 -- Recently, the 22nd Chinese Peacekeeping Level-1+ Hospital to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) completed the "Hedgehog 2024”emergency defense drill organized by the UNIFIL Sector East. The drill has examined and enhanced the emergency response capabilities of the Chinese peacekeeping medical contingent.
During the drill, the Chinese peacekeepers conducted medical treatment training. The medical aid team provided emergency treatment for the "wounded" upon receiving the request, and then transferred the "wounded" to the resuscitation room for antishock therapy while monitoring the vital signs all the time.
The inspectors sent by the UNIFIL Sector East commended the performance of the Chinese peacekeeping medical contingent in the drill. After the drill, they verified the personnel composition, weapons and equipment, medical supplies and daily necessities in two bunkers of the Chinese peacekeeping medical contingent.
It is learned that since its deployment in December last year, the Chinese peacekeeping medical contingent has carried outemergency defense drills on a regular basis to continuously promote the troops' capabilities of responding to different threats and avoiding various risks. It has also established multiple communication channels with the UNIFIL headquarters and military observers, among others, to jointly respond to the changing situation.
