BEIJING, Jan.29 -- China's Ministry of Veterans Affairs (MVA) recently announced the latest findings about the identities of ten Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) martyrs in the Republic of Korea (ROK). It's the first time for the ministry to declare the identifying results about the martyrs' remains since the establishment of the National Martyrs' Remains DNA Identification Lab in July 2022.

Here are the ten confirmed martyrs, Lin Chengwang, Shi Wanzhong, Chen Hanguan, Suo Weiliang, Li Yanxue, Bai Cunren, Li Rensong, Wang Xiyan, Qiu Nengqing, and Wei Henglan, whose remains had been transferred to China in 2020 and 2021.

Since 2014, China has repatriated the remains of 938 CPV martyrs from the ROK in 10 batches for 10 consecutive years. With a focus on remains bearing personal identity information clues, the Martyrs' Remains Search and Identification Center of MVA has mobilized all sectors of society to collectively search for the martyrs' relatives, and the National Martyrs' Remains DNA Identification Lab has also established national DNA database of the martyrs and their relatives.
