BEIJING, Feb. 7 -- Some chief officers of the PLA Navy sent festive greetings and New Year blessings on February 6 via video to several naval troops on missions, as the Spring Festival, traditional Chinese New Year, is coming up on February 10.

The 45th Chinese naval escort taskforce has successfully completed various overseas escort tasks and multiple joint exercises with foreign militaries since deployment in September last year. A ship-based aviation unit has realized a number of capability breakthroughs, such as the maximum number of sorties on a single day, and large-range and round-the-clock flight training. The PLA support base in Djibouti has been in operation for more than six years and become more functional to support the diversified tasks including logistic support and evacuation of Chinese from overseas countries.

Military members of several units took part in the online activity, showing high spirits and pledging to make unremitting efforts to comprehensively improve the PLA Navy's modernization level and comprehensive combat capability.
