BEIJING, Feb. 25 -- China has sealed a deal with the UAE and will export the L-15 trainer jet to the UAE, according to the Official WeChat Account of Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC).
The 16th International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) kicked off in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on February 20. China's State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense has organized China National Aero-Technology Import and Export Corporation (CATIC) and some other military trade companies to participate in the exhibition as unified national exhibitor group “China Defense”.
At the exhibition, the L-15 trainer aircraft with aerial refueling capability made its debut in IDEX in paint coating of the UAE Air Force. The L-15 can train fourth- and fifth- generation fighter pilots, and carry out air combat and ground attack tasks. Its high training efficiency, strong combat capability and low life cycle cost made it an outstanding representative of the new-generation advanced trainer aircraft.
It is learnt that the Chinese pavilion is one of the largest national pavilions in this exhibition, covering an area of more than 2,100 square meters. The exhibits cover traditional security fields such as land, sea, air, space and electricity, as well as emerging equipment fields such as network intelligence and unmanned and anti-unmanned. It showcases the advanced capabilities and levels of China's defense technology industry, and provides Chinese solutions for building global peace and security.
