WAU, May 15 -- The 13th Chinese Peacekeeping Horizontal Engineering Company to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) passed the UN equipment inspection in the second quarter on May 11, local time.
A 12-member UN inspection team dispatched by UNMISS conducted a comprehensive inspection and evaluation on all equipment of Chinese camps in Wau and Kuajok in two days. The team inspected more than 9,000 pieces of materials and equipment, involving 32 categories such as engineering support equipment, weapons and ammunition, and communication systems.
All the equipment met the standards stipulated by the UN and the inspection team spoke highly of the Chinese peacekeeping engineering company’s efforts in completing construction tasks, promoting the construction of the camps, actively carrying out humanitarian assistance and cultural exchange activities.
