BEIRUT, May 15 -- The 21st Chinese peacekeeping Level-1+ Hospital to United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) sent medical personnel to provide free medical service at the Al Kub Care and Development Center in Lebanon at the invitation of the Civil Affairs Department of the UNIFIL Sector East and the local government on May 12, the International Nurses' Day.

The Al Kub Care and Development Center, a non-governmental charity organization, is located in southern Lebanon near the Lebanon-Israeli border. The contingent selected 16 medical personnel from departments such as internal medicine, surgery, and traditional Chinese medicine to provide free medical service.

According to Miao Hongcheng, head of the Chinese peacekeeping Level-1+ Hospital, the free clinic mainly targeted elderly patients, as well as patients in poverty and mobility difficulties. The Chinese medical personnel offered services including physical exam, diagnosis, treatment and professional health consultation, and distributed drugs to the patients.

Zhu Ge, head nurse of the Level-1+ Hospital, stated that celebrating International Nurses' Day in this way is very meaningful. The Chinese medical personnel will continue to carry forward the spirit of Nightingale and safeguard the lives and health of the peacekeeping personnel and local people in the mission area.

It is learned that since its deployment in August 2022, the 21st Chinese peacekeeping Level-1+ Hospital to UNIFIL has proactively provided humanitarian medical assistance to the local people while smoothly carrying out various peacekeeping missions.
