ABIDJAN, Côte d'Ivoire, June 30 -- The 43rd Chinese naval escort taskforce wrapped up a goodwill visit to Côte d'Ivoire and left the Port of Abidjan on June 26.

During the visit to Côte d'Ivoire, the commanding officer of the Chinese taskforce made courtesy visits to the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ivorian Military, the Chief of Naval Staff, and the Commander of the Port of Abidjan, and conducted in-depth and friendly exchanges with them.

The commanding officer and representatives of the Chinese taskforce also visited a local orphanage school and donated stationery to the students.

In addition, the Chinese sailors held friendly games such as football and tug-of-war with the Ivorian sailors at an Ivorian naval base. The Chinese escort taskforce hosted an open-day activity on the frigate Sanya and some overseas Chinese, local people and members of the Ivorian Navy visited the frigate.

The staff of the Chinese embassy, representatives of overseas Chinese, as well as members of the Ivorian Navy, saw the Chinese taskforce off at the port on the morning of June 26. After leaving the port, the Chinese naval vessels and the Ivorian patrol vessel Contre Admiral Fadika conducted the training drill on subjects including joint search and rescue, anti-terrorism and anti-piracy, and formation sailing.
