TARAWA, July 17 -- Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark, which is on the Harmonious Mission 2023, arrived in Tarawa, the capital of Kiribati, on July 15 for a seven-day goodwill visit. During the visit, it will provide a series of humanitarian medical services to local people.
This is the first visit to Kiribati by Peace Ark, and a Chinese naval vessel as well.
During the seven-day medical service, medical personnel aboard Peace Ark will diagnose and treat patients onsite. At the same time, they will send multiple teams to Tungaru Central Hospital, the society for the aged, and local communities respectively. The medical staff of Tungaru Central Hospital will also be invited to jointly carry out medical services aboard the hospital ship. The 2nd batch of the Chinese medical team to Kiribati, which is carrying out tis international aid mission, will assist in the related medical activities.
During the visit, Peace Ark will also conduct health education and cultural exchanges with the local people.
