PLA Hong Kong Garrison completes 26th rotation

BEIJING, Aug. 28 -- The Chinese PLA Hong Kong Garrison, including army, naval and air force units, completed the 26th rotation since it began garrisoning Hong Kong in 1997 on August 25.

At 1:00 a.m., August 25, the army unit of PLA Hong Kong Garrison held a rotation ceremony at the Gun Club Hill Barracks, after which the outgoing army unit left the barracks and returned to Shenzhen.

In the morning, the incoming naval landing boats set sail from a military port in Shenzhen, crossed the Hong Kong waters, and arrived at the Ngong Shuen Chau Naval Base right on time, where the Hong Kong Garrison's naval unit held a rotation ceremony at 11:30 a.m.

The air force's helicopter unit took off from barracks in Guangzhou and arrived at the Shek Kong Air Base around 9:50 a.m., where a rotation ceremony was also held.

This is the 26th rotation of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison since it began garrisoning in the HKSAR in 1997. The rotation was well supported by the local government and residents.
