BEIJING, Aug. 29-- China and Pakistan air forces kicked off the Shaheen (Eagle)–X joint training exercise in China on August 28.

It is the 10th joint training exercise between the two air forces, which will focus on training in combat scenarios of joint air defense, joint countermeasures, joint seizure and control operations, etc.

By carrying out realistic force-on-force combat, the exercise aims to strengthen exchanges between both sides from multiple dimensions such as operational thought, organization and command, and operational tactics, so as to further improve both sides' training level and coordination capabilities.

The Chinese and Pakistani air forces will send fighter jets, early warning aircraft and other types of aircraft, as well as ground forces such as ground-to-air missile troops, radar and signal corps, to participate in the training exercise. Chinese naval aviation units will also participate in the joint training exercise.

Since March 2011, the Chinese and Pakistani air forces have started to conduct the "Shaheen (Eagle)" series of joint training.
