KAMPONG SPEU, Cambodia, Sept. 15 -- The launch ceremony of Pure Homeland-2023, a multinational joint demining operation arranged according to the consensus reached by the ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus) Experts' Working Group (EWG) on Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA), kicked off at the multinational peacekeeping force training school of the Royal Cambodian Army on September 13.
The operation is co-hosted by China and Cambodia as co-chairs of the ADMM-Plus EWG on HMA. More than 300 people, including participating troops from 14 countries and military attachés to Cambodia, attended the launching ceremony.
After the ceremony, officers and soldiers from various countries visited China's mine clearance and explosive disposal equipment and medical rescue site settings, as well as various landmines and unexploded ordnance cleared by Cambodia, and listened to a briefing on relevant minefields.
After the launch ceremony, all participating troops will join together in the demining forum, joint training, and comprehensive demining exercises and training.
