PHNOM PENH, Sept. 19 -- A whole-process joint training drill during China-Cambodia "Peace Angel 2023" military medical services exercise was launched in Phnom Penh on September 18.
The drill was carried out in the scenario that after a flood and hurricane disaster, at the request of the affected country, the medical service elements from the Chinese and Cambodian militaries organized a joint group to provide humanitarian medical assistance jointly in designated area.
The troops constructed a three-tiered relief system, which connected all the casualty rescue links from the first aid at the scene of disaster to the emergency medical treatment and rear area specialized treatment.
Under the coordination of the joint assistance command center, the casualties were evacuated to the hospital or the airport for transfer by ambulance vehicles and helicopters. Teams of medical support, minor injury treatment, and disease prevention and protection carried out preparation works at the same time.
When the critical injuries arrived, a team composed of three Chinese members and two Cambodian members using portable devices and combined ventilators to give respiratory and circulatory support treatment, setting the conditions for casualty aero-medical evacuation.
There are over 700 members from both sides participating in the joint drill, as well as Mi-17 and Z-9 helicopters employed by the Cambodian side.
