HONG KONG, Sept. 20 -- The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Hong Kong Garrison organized a joint patrol of its land, sea, and air forces on September 19, focusing on improving the troops' capabilities in rapid planning, emergency deployment, contingency handling, and joint operations.
The combined-arms patrol, involving branches of high mobility infantry, warship and helicopter troops, etc., was centered on subjects such as the establishment of command post, planning and commanding, joint air-and-sea patrol, maritime search and rescue, interception and inspection, and joint crackdown.
During the joint patrol, the garrison's forces strictly followed the laws and regulations applied to the road, waterway and aviation control in Hong Kong, and informed the relevant departments of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government in advance.
