BEIJING, Sep. 28 -- The 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum will be held in Beijing from October 29th to 31st, said Defense Spokesperson Senior Colonel Wu Qian at a regular press conference of China's Ministry of National Defense in Beijing on Thursday.
According to the spokesperson, under the theme of "Common Security, Lasting Peace", the forum this year will focus on the priorities of cooperation in the Global Security Initiative, and provide equal opportunities for all parties to voice their opinions, discussing about security challenges, pursuing security solutions, and advancing security cooperation. The forum has four plenary sessions and eight simultaneous special sessions. A Young Officers and Scholars Seminar and other activities will also be held.
Now, the preparation for the forum is well underway. Official delegates of more than 40 countries and international organizations and renowned experts and scholars at home and abroad have already confirmed their attendance.
Founded in 2006, the Beijing Xiangshan Forum adheres to the ideas of "Equality, Openness, Inclusiveness, Mutual Learning", and has developed into one of the important global security dialogues.
