BEIJING, Oct. 12 – Chinese naval ship Qujing, which was on a mission in waters near China's Yongshu Reef, received a distress signal sent by a Vietnamese fishing boat around 17:20 on October 9. A Vietnamese fisherman onboard had a life-threatening accident, causing a complete displaced fracture of his right upper limb and right lung contusion.

The naval ship Qujing immediately transferred the fisherman to Yongshu Reef hospital in Hainan's Sansha city for treatment. Around 22:00, the surgical operation on the fisherman was completed successfully, with his vital signs remaining normal. The Vietnamese fisherman will return to his boat as soon as the situation stabilizes.
