BEIJING, Dec. 6 -- The fifth Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Defense and Security Forum, hosted by China's Ministry of National Defense and organized by the International College of Defense Studies of the National Defense University of the People's Liberation Army, successfully concluded in Beijing recently.
Defense officials, experts, and scholars from SCO member states, observer states and dialogue partner countries attended the forum. During the event, representatives from the member states conducted expert lectures, seminars and exchanges, visits, and other activities centering on the three global initiatives, namely, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative, and the topics concerning regional defense and security cooperation. They explored the methods and paths for deepening the SCO defense and security cooperation, and promoted mutual understanding and trust.
