BEIJING, Feb. 21 -- At the request of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) headquarters, the 22nd Chinese Peacekeeping Multi-Role Engineering Company and Construction Engineering Company to UNIFIL dispatched a construction team to the temporary border area between Lebanon and Israel to assist the Ghanaian battalion in completing the T-shaped protective wall hoisting task from February 17 to 18.

The construction work mainly aimed to hoist 30 T-shaped concrete wallboards for protective walls of the Ghanaian camp. As the task was carried out in a sensitive area just four kilometers away from the temporary border between Lebanon and Israel with frequent skirmishes, the peacekeepers wore protective gears all through the task in case of sudden firefights, close bomb drops and any other emergency. During the work, the peacekeepers overcame the adverse impact of bad weather, narrow working space and other constraints, and succeeded in moving the T-shaped wallboards to the designated position.

"Thank you for your excellent job. You are professional and we are grateful for everything you have done," Enrico Fontana, commander of the UNIFIL Sector West, said to the Chinese peacekeepers.
