MAPUTO, Apr. 2 -- After concluding its visit to Tanzania, the 45th Chinese naval escort taskforce arrived in the port of Maputo in Mozambique as planned on the morning of April 1 and started its five-day goodwill visit.
At around 10:00 am that day, the Chinese warships Urumqi, Linyi and Dongpinghu, with billowing national flags of China and Mozambique, pulled into the port of Maputo. A crowd of more than 200 people including representatives of the Mozambican military, staff of the Chinese Embassy in Mozambique, and representatives of local Chinese companies and overseas Chinese, welcomed the Chinese taskforce at the port.
The Mozambican side held a welcome ceremony. After the ceremony, representatives boarded the ships Urumqi, Linyi and Dongpinghu in batches for visits.
During the visit, the 45th Chinese naval escort taskforce will hold deck receptions and other exchange activities.
