BEIRUT, Apr. 15 -- Recently, the 22nd Chinese peacekeeping multi-role engineering company to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) carried out earthwork excavation on the Lebanon-Israel border and transported these defense engineering materials for Ghananian, Irish and Polish peacekeeping battalions.

The construction area is located in a sensitive direction with frequent conflicts, only tens of meters away from the temporary Blue Line between Lebanon and Israel. Therefore, all Chinese peacekeepers were fully armed and stood ready against sudden firefights, bomb drops and other emergency situations. During the construction, due to repeated shelling and firefights around the mission area, the Chinese peacekeepers had to quickly enter the bunker and change the security alert level multiple times.

It is learnt that this mission was temporarily assigned by the UNIFIL headquarters and required three consecutive days of operation. With superb technology and excellent conduct, these Chinese peacekeepers won high praise from foreign counterparts.
