BEIJING, Apr. 18 -- Recently, members assigned to the 14th Chinese Peacekeeping Horizontal Engineering Company and Level-II Hospital to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) headed to a local primary school to donate humanitarian supplies, and imparted health care and rescue skills to the teachers and students there.
The peacekeepers donated over 900 items of school supplies, recreation and sports equipment and medical materials in 18 categories to help improve the conditions of daily teaching and cultural activities. They also taught hygiene knowledge and disease prevention methods in the primary school.
Besides, the peacekeepers staged traditional Chinese cultural performances such as drum playing and lion dances for the teachers and students. They enjoyed those performances and experienced the glamour of Chinese culture.
