VIENTIANE, June 5 -- Members of the 10th medical team dispatched by the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) to Laos were awarded the Medal of Valor by the Lao People's Army (LPA) in Vientiane, capital of Laos, on May 31.

According to Sen. Lieut. Gen. Thongloi Silivong, Deputy Minister of National Defense and Chairman of the LPA's General Department of Politics, ten Chinese military medical teams have been sent to Laos to carry out medical assistance missions since 2019, bringing many cutting-edge medical knowledge and technologies to Laos. The development and construction of Laos cannot be separated from the solidarity and cooperation with China.

Li Bing, defense attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Laos, said in an interview that the 10th Chinese military medical team to Laos has cooperated closely with various departments of the Military Hospital 103 of the LPA and carried out activities such as medical support, clinical teaching, scientific research cooperation and academic exchanges. These activities not only filled the gaps in multiple specialty fields of Lao hospitals, but also significantly improved the expertise and influence of the Military Hospital 103.

The Military Hospital 103 is a general hospital built with the assistance of the Chinese Ministry of National Defense. Since 2019, the PLA has continuously sent medical teams to the hospital to carry out medical support, free clinics and other activities, helping the hospital complete many major and difficult operations and achieve many breakthroughs in the medical history of Laos.
