BEIJING, June 12 -- In the international competition for law-enforcement working dog experts held in Uzbekistan recently, the Chinese team, composed of seven servicemen and three military working dogs from the Military Working Dog Base of the People's Armed Police (PAP) Force, achieved good results, winning three gold medals, one silver medal and two bronze medals.

From June 3 to 7, the Chinese team and 27 contestants of 13 teams from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and other countries competed in four events, including obedience of the military working dogs, 1,500-meter running with the military working dogs, 200-meter obstacle race with the military working dogs, and special applications.

Corporal Ren Kaiyu, a squad leader enlisted in 2019, won two gold medals in 1,500-meter running with the military working dogs and 200-meter obstacle race with the military working dogs. Sergeant First Class Yang Yuhai, won the championship in obedience of the military working dogs.

The head of the Chinese team said that during the competition, the team members had in-depth exchanges with contestants from other countries on the employment, training and breeding of military working dogs. Next, they will incorporate the useful experience learned from the competition into education and training to enhance the explosive search, identification, tracking and other capabilities of the military working dogs.

This competition in Uzbekistan represents another time that the Chinese military working dogs have participated in competitions overseas, subsequent to "True Friend International Army Games (IAG) 2018" held in Russia six years ago.
