BEIJING, Aug.3 -- Newly-enrolled pilot cadets of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force for 2024 boarded the Y-20 transport aircraft and flew to the Aviation University of the PLA Air Force for enrollment.

For the last two days, the PLA Air Force has been using several Y-20 aircraft to transport newly-enrolled pilot cadets for 2024 from six boarding sites including Shenyang, Shijiazhuang, Jinan, Nanjing, Changsha and Chengdu Cities to the Aviation University of the PLA Air Force for enrollment.

This is the third consecutive year that the PLA Air Force has dispatched the Y-20 aircraft to transport the newly-enrolled pilot cadets to the university and welcome the aspiring young people to join the air force.

In recent years, focusing on the selection of first-class pilot professionals, the PLA Air Force keeps enlarging the scale of joint civil-military training of "dual-enrollment" students to lay a solid foundation for the building of Air Force pilot team. With increasingly more scientific and accurate pilot recruitment and selection, cadets who meet the physical standards of fighters have maintained a high portion in the admitted ones, among whom 96% attained good grades and above in the flight potential assessments, demonstrating significantly higher basic physical and athletic abilities.
