BEIJING, Aug. 8 -- The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theater Command (STC) has organized a joint combat-readiness patrol in air space and waters near China's Huangyan Dao in the South China Sea on Wednesday, according to a statement released by the STC.
The joint combat-readiness patrol was aimed at verifying the combat capabilities of the troops under the STC, including reconnaissance, early warning, fast maneuver, and joint fire strike.
Any military activity attempts to stir up trouble in the South China Sea, create hotspot issue, or break regional peace and stability will be monitored, said the statement.
