Chinese medical team participating in "Peace Unity-2024" exercise provides service for Tanzanian people

BEIJING, Aug.12 -- The "Peace Unity-2024" joint exercise on land is progressing as scheduled. During the exercise, the Chinese participating medical team dispatched medical personnel to the hospital of the Comprehensive Training Center (CTC) in Mapinga, Tanzania, to provide free medical service to local people. They also donated medicine and medical equipment to the hospital.

Coming from the Central Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) General Hospital, the Chinese medical team consists of well-known domestic and military medical experts, and elite staff who have participated in major missions for multiple times. Professionally, the team covers 10 disciplines including surgery, orthopedics, dermatology, and cardiovascular medicine.

During the free medical service, the Chinese medical team also arranged for specialized personnel from dermatology, gastroenterology, and the department of general diseases to conduct exchanges with medical staff at the Mapinga CTC Hospital around common and frequently occurring diseases in the local area. The Chinese medical team also donated 45 kinds of medicine and 32 types of medical consumables to the hospital.
