DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania, Aug. 13 -- As a part of the "Peace Unity-2024" joint exercise, a comprehensive live-fire joint drill at land with full process and all elements kicked off on August 11. Participating troops from Chinese and Tanzanian militaries operated in close collaboration to ensure the desired results of the drills.
The "Peace Unity-2024" joint exercise has been carried out both at sea and on land, aiming at promoting the capabilities in joint counter-terrorism operations, deepening military mutual trust and pragmatic cooperation, and jointly safeguarding regional peace.
Chinese and Tanzanian troops participated in the land drills at the Comprehensive Training Center (CTC) in Mapinga, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Under the theme of joint counter-terrorism military operations, both sides carried out training and operations on joint planning, multi-dimensional reconnaissance, raid and rescue, encirclement, suppression and arrest, all-dimensional pursuit and other subjects. In addition, other activities such as cultural exchanges and medical services have also been arranged during the drills.
Chinese, Tanzanian and Mozambican troops participated in the maritime drills off the coast of East Africa. Under the theme of jointly safeguarding maritime security, the three sides carried out drills on joint patrol, visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS), joint search and rescue, counter-terrorism and anti-piracy, and other subjects, which have promoted the capabilities of all parties in jointly responding to maritime contingencies and safeguarding maritime security.
