BEIJING, Aug. 28 -- The Chinese PLA Southern Theater Command dispatched its army and air forces to carry out joint live-fire drill on the Chinese side of the China-Myanmar border from August 27, said Air Force Senior Colonel Tian Junli, spokesperson for the PLA Southern Theater Command.
The drill aims to verify the capabilities of the troops, including reconnaissance, early warning, multidimensional blockade and fire strike. Troops of the Theater Command are always ready to respond to various emergencies, and resolutely safeguard national sovereignty, border stability, and the safety of people's lives and property, the spokesperson stated.
