JUBA Sept. 5 -- Recently, the 10th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) successfully completed the armed escort for a convoy of the United Nations (UN) transport management department.
The escort mission stretched to over 270 km in total, including more than 100 km of arduous sections with bridges in poor conditions and potholes. To ensure the safety during the mission, the Chinese peacekeepers divided the escort vehicles and the UN transport vehicles into echelons and organized them in mixed groups, thus successfully accomplishing the armed escort mission.
