BEIJING, Sept. 28 -- As the 11th Martyrs' Day draws near, China's Jiangsu Province held "Motherland Never Forgets its Martyrs -- Finding Relatives for Martyrs" activity on Tuesday.
According to historical records, tens of thousands of unknown martyrs rested in peace in Jiangsu Province. In 2023, Jiangsu Province launched a three-year project of "Finding Relatives for Martyrs". By means of searching for information of unknown martyrs and soliciting clues from the society, the project aims to find the relatives of the martyrs, thus confirming the identification of the unknown martyrs and making their heroic names known to the public.
According to the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Veterans Affairs, since the initiation of the project in 2023, Jiangsu Province has successfully found the relatives for 1,631 martyrs.
