Chinese troops arrive in Pakistan for Warrior-VIII

BEIJING, Nov. 20 -- The last batch Chinese troops participating in China-Pakistan joint anti-terrorism exercise coded "Warrior-VIII" arrived in Pakistan on Monday, local time, by taking the Y-20 transport aircraft.

The"Warrior-VIII" joint exercise focuses on joint counter-terrorism clean-up and strike operations. The two sides will engage in mixed training across various specialties and organize joint planning and live drills.

For this exercise, the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Western Theater Command dispatched more than 300 troops, covering the special operations, army aviation and logistic support troops.

The Chinese participating troops and equipment were delivered to Pakistan in batches by air. Upon reaching the designated area, the Chinese participating troops started deployment, field survey, and command post set-up.

It is learnt that the exercise, which will last from late November to mid-December, is the eighth one of the"Warrior-VIII" series between the Chinese and Pakistani militaries.
