Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark wraps up visit to Djibouti, heads for Sri Lanka

DJIBOUTI, Dec. 16 -- On December 13, local time, the Chinese naval hospital ship Peace Ark, which is on the Mission Harmony-2024, completed its visit to Djibouti and departed for Sri Lanka, the next stop of the mission.

During the seven-day visit, the Peace Ark treated more than 5,800 patients, conducted 2,377 auxiliary examinations and tests, and performed 48 surgeries, winning wide acclaim from the local people in Djibouti.

Meanwhile, the Peace Ark carried out public welfare activities for several consecutive days, providing medical consultations for patients and sending medical team to a local juvenile diabetes clinic to conduct physical examinations and advise on therapeutic schedule for local pediatric patients. In addition, the mission members also went to an orphanage in Daryel and a primary school in Balbala to provide health service and conduct cultural exchange activities. They also held friendly football matches with Djiboutian service members.

Djibouti is the final stop of the Peace Ark in Africa during the Mission Harmony-2024. Since its arrival in Africa, the Peace Ark has visited 12 countries and provided medical service for more than 78,000 African people in total.
