XIGAZE, China, Jan. 10 -- PubuKelsang, a 26-year-old villager from Gabu Village, didn't take it seriously when he got injured in his right eye due to the aftershocks of a 6.8-magnitude earthquake that hit Xigaze City in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7.
The young man's vision was significantly reduced and he was at the risk of losing his right eye when the military doctors assigned to the General Hospital of the Chinese PLA Xizang Military Command met and diagnosed him on the morning of January 9.
After learning about the urgent situation, the PLA Western Theater Command scrambled helicopters to transfer him to the general hospital in Lhasa City for treatment.
