The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theater Command conducted combat patrols over the territorial waters and airspace of China's Huangyan Island on February 27. Naval and air forces jointly carried the patrols that took place in the South China Sea. Since February, the PLA theater command has continuously strengthened its patrols. The aim is to safeguard national sovereignty and security and maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea region.
