CHABAHAR PORT, Iran, Mar. 10 -- The Chinese naval fleet participating in the China-Iran-Russia "Security Belt-2025" joint exercise arrived in the waters near Iran's Chabahar Port and completed the naval assembly with the ships of the Iranian and Russian navies on the morning of March 9, local time, marking the beginning of the joint exercise.

With the theme of "Creating Peace and Security Together", the exercise will be held in sea areas near Iran's Chabahar Port from March 9 to 13. The exercise focuses on subjects including maritime targets strike, VBSS (visit, board, search, and seizure), damage control, as well as joint search and rescue operations.

The Chinese participating troops consist of the guided-missile destroyer Baotou (Hull 133) and the comprehensive supply ship Gaoyouhu (Hull 904) of the 47th Chinese naval escort taskforce. Iran sent more than 10 ships of various types including the Jamaran and Alvand destroyers. Russia sent ships including corvettes Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov and Rezky. In addition, South Africa, Pakistan, Oman and other countries sent observers to participate in the exercise.
