BEIJING, April 14 -- Recently, the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Support Base in Djibouti donated daily necessities, stationery and sporting goods to the Daryel Center in Djibouti City.
The donation ceremony was held at the Daryel Nursery. Military Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Djibouti, Anissa Hassan Bahdon, Secretary General of the Ministry of Women and Family of Djibouti, and officials from the Chinese PLA Support Base in Djibouti attended the ceremony.
This marks the second time the PLA Support Base has provided public welfare assistance to the Daryel Nursery. Over 700 sets of urgently needed items including rice, cooking oil, and milk powder were donated.
"The school supplies and food materials donated by the Chinese PLA Support Base will directly benefit the children here and reflect the base's care for children," said Bahdon.
After the ceremony, Chinese military members performed Tai Chi, traditional Chinese music, and calligraphy for the children in the nursery and invited them to participate in interactive activities. They sang and danced joyfully and had great fun.
In recent years, the Chinese PLA Support Base in Djibouti has actively participated in international humanitarian assistance and disaster prevention and reduction activities, and provided medical services, educational support and disaster relief materials to local residents. These efforts have earned widespread praise from the Djiboutian government and its people.
