Chinese peacekeepers to South Sudan (Wau) deployed to Aweil base to carry out engineering support tasks

BEIJING, June 5 -- On June 3, local time, 25 peacekeepers of the 15th Chinese Peacekeeping Horizontal Engineering Company  to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) were deployed to the Aweil base to undertake relevant engineering support tasks including construction of airport runway, shelter and ammunition depot , ground hardening, and drainage system building.

Up to now, the peacekeepers of Chinese peacekeeping engineering contingent have been deployed to four locations, namely Wau, Kuajok, Romich,  nd Aweil.  They have repaired 251 kilometers of roads in the states of Western Bahr el Ghazal, Warrap, and Unity, and completed the infrastructure support tasks for the UNMISS.
