Chilean Navy's sail training ship Esmeralda makes 10th visit to Shanghai

BEIJING, June 24 -- The Chilean Navy's sail training ship Esmeralda  arrived at a military port in east China's Shanghai City on Monday for a five-day goodwill visit. This is the 10th visit the ship has made to Shanghai since it was commissioned.

The sail training ship Esmeralda is 113 meters long and 13.1 meters wide, with a standard displacement of 3,420 tons. As a symbol and an important training platform of the Chilean Navy, the ship has made frequent visits to China, and such visits have registered a much-told story of friendly exchanges between the Chinese and Chilean navies. This visit of the ship Esmeralda plays a significant role in further promoting the traditional friendship between the two navies and deepening the friendly relations and pragmatic cooperation between the two sides in the military field.

It is learned that during the visit, sailors of the two navies will have professional exchanges and discussions. They will also conduct friendly interactions, city tours, deck receptions, and other activities.
