BEIJING, July 18 -- The 18th Military Summer Camp for Macao Youth kicked off at the Taipa Barracks of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Macao Garrison recently, with 159 young Macao students from 34 universities and non-tertiary schools attending the seven-day program. Shao Chungui, Chief of Staff of the Chinese PLA Macao Garrison, Kong Chi Meng, Director of the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) government, and others, presented at the opening ceremony.
The Military Summer Camp for Macao Youth is jointly hosted by the Macao SAR government and the Chinese PLA Macao Garrison, and organized by the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR government. It has been held every summer since 2005 and is a summer brand event for Macao youth.
The military summer camp provides colorful training courses including basic military equipment experiencing, camping training, and medical rescue training, as well as field visits and other activities.
