PORT of Naples, ITALY, July 13 (ChinaMil) -- The guided-missile frigate Binzhou (Hull 515) of the 29th Chinese naval escort taskforce arrived in the Port of Naples, Italy, on July 11, for a three-day technical stop after the completion of its “Kiel Week” visit in Germany and participation in the Centenary Celebration of the Polish Navy in Poland.
At 13:00 local time, accompanied by the performance of Carabinieri Band of Italy, the frigate Binzhou slowly pulled into the Port of Naples. The Chinese Ambassador to Italy Li Ruiyu and his wife, along with the staff of the embassy and consulate, and more than 500 local Chinese and overseas Chinese representatives, greeted the visiting frigate at the dock.
Ambassador Li Ruiyu reviewed the honor guard of the frigate Binzhou after the welcoming ceremony. Thereafter, the welcoming crowds boarded and visited the ship in batches.
During the technical stop, the commanding officers of the frigate will separately call on the Chief of staff of the Logistics Command of the Italian Navy, the Commander of the Naples Coast Guard, the Governor of Naples, the Mayor of Naples, and other military and civilian dignitaries. And, the frigate Binzhou will replenish fuel and non-staple food.
